San Diego Decom

Due to the fire conditions in our county, it is important that you help us adhere to our permit requirements with the County. Please fill out the form below to give the planning crew information on the type of fire you would like to bring to YouTopia.

Fire Performers

Fire performances are restricted to designated areas, with 360 degree fire safety coverage, and at least one fire safety spotter per performer. Weather conditions must be deemed acceptable by SD Decompression Fire Marshall, Nero, our community’s performers, as well as LJIR Fire officials.

  • You must bring fire safety equipment for any performances.
  • No lighting if conditions are deemed unsafe.
  • Follow all safe practices in regards to fuel and tool storage while on site at the event. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE for following safe practices as outlined in NAFAA Guidelines.

Fire Art

Burn barrels are illegal in San Diego County. Please do not bring one.

No open flames, such as TIKI TORCHES will be allowed. Based on conditions at the time of the Decom, there may be other blanket restrictions.

If you are a camp that does not want to register as a theme camp but want to bring some fire art, please complete this questionnaire.

Campfires

No fires that burn wood or create ashes will be allowed at the event this year. October is wildfire season. The La Jolla reservation burned down in 2007 and they are allowing us to have fire at our event because we will be monitoring it strictly. Only YOU can prevent forest fires. If you plan on having any type of fire in your camp, please fill out the form and submit it to our fire marshall.

If you have any questions about the fire you would like to bring, please fill out this form or contact fire@sddecom.com
